When it comes to the iPhone, we have seen some crazy things happen in the past. Right from technology blog Gizmodo daring to toe the line with the mighty Steve Jobs, to the latest rumors on the iPhone 6. Predictably, the industry is abuzz with speculations and as reliable sources from MacRumor and MacFan spill out the alleged details, ingenious minds are using 3D Printing technology to bring those rumors to life.

As soon as the first prototype of the upcoming iPhone 6 was uncovered by Japanese magazine MacFan last March, several attempts to understand the model and its dimensions, have surfaced. Most of these works are attempts by the Apple Fan Blogs and hardcore Apple Fanboys. Taking the obsession one step further, we have designer Marin Hajek, who has some ready files that can be downloaded and used to 3D Print a mockup the Jesus Phone!

Marin’s set of files are available for a nifty sum of $25, from the website Turbosquid.com. No doubt you can download the files only for “editorial purposes” and basically get a feel of the phone in your hands. Formats for the files available are: 3D Studio (.3ds) format or as .obj and .stl files for 3D printing at home. Incase you don’t have a printer at home and would like to use the services of Shapeways, then a compatible version for it is also available.

Whether or not unofficial leaks of the iPhone is a part of their marketing strategy remains disputable, however Apple can no longer deny fans from getting a realistic feel of the design thanks to 3D printing. In a way this is a good strategy as design feedbacks at this early stage can go to refine the end product.
