I tell ya, did someone just squirt a dwg bubble out their eye socket or do we have a new iPad CAD app on the market? THE LATER my friends. You’ve seen the IMSI TurboViewer app of the free variety. Now, they have the Turboviewer PRO version to tempt your 2D/3D tastebuds. It brings in some slick visuals and what all the .dwg belly slappers love, layer control. Take a look.
TurboViewer PRO
Up above you see a model of that annoyingly cute robot Wall-E in the Turboviewer PRO interface. What you can’t see (without playing with it) is the variety of visuals and control you have over edge opacity, lighting and BAM, X-ray factor. The X-ray visual allows you to see through your model. It’s slick and makes 4 out of 5 architects bump elbows and say, “X-Ray bizatch!” Here’s a list if features in the Pro version.
- Layer on/off/invert/all visible/invisible
- Visual styles, wireframe, hidden, x-ray, shaded, shaded with edges
- Autosenses 2D or 3D drawings and sets the appropriate one finger multi-touch navigation mode and now with the ability to lock 2D pan mode only
- Online wiki help system
- Send DWG and DXF files via email attachment and open with TurboViewer Pro
- View DWG and DXF files from the web, FTP, Dropbox, WebDAV
- Localized in 14 languages including: English, Chinese Simplified, Czech, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish
- Instant full screen preview while drawing is still loading
- Save time with the ability to cancel a file during load
- Restore saved AutoCAD® Views to quickly display the best visions of your design
- Supports AutoCAD linetypes to maintain visual fidelity as intended
Now, wouldn’t you guess it. This app isn’t free, but they’re offering it at half-price right now. It just turns out though that half-price is $9.99. (Sting!) So, if you enjoy viewing .dwg’s while sipping wine and flipping your finger against the screen of an iPad, you can download the app on iTunes or learn a little more at IMSI/Design.
