SolidWorks World 2013 is firing on all cylinders with Dassualt Systems launching a new site to kick off the user event, My.SolidWorks. It integrates the Netvibes (content curation) and Exalead (search functionality) that Dassault systems acquired over the years. This is the first we’re seeing it pushed out on a more community level, especially on the SolidWorks side of the street.
My.SolidWorks
For now, My.SolidWorks simply a curated stream of SolidWorks content brought in from the SolidWorks forum, blog and Youtube channel. I imagine in the future we’ll see additional features allowing you to truly connect with others, share content and see what others are finding valuable. For now though, view it as your one-stop source for all SolidWorks related content from the SolidWorks social-sphere.
Even though you can log in with your SolidWorks customer portal username/password, it’s not completely tied into the system–there are a few things you’ll have to work around. you’ll need to log into the SolidWorks Customer portal to update your profile and you currently can’t access it via mobile device.
It is in ‘Beta’ phase though and SolidWorks has put up a My.SolidWorks forum board to get your feedback. What do you think of this new site?
