What’s better than setting up shop in your local cafe, slapping that laptop on the table and plugging in your various USB powered devices? One thing, monitors. LOTS of monitors. AOC is making it possible for you to use all of your USB ports and hubs, for that one thing. Their new 16″ portable monitor is set to make it easier for engineers and designers on-the-go who need a little more intimidation and screen real estate. Think you could use something like this to set up your mobile office? Take a look at the specs and be delighted.
Portable Monitors?
Ya know, pondering this, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a battery draining monitor power by a USB cord. I’d carry a few of these, five laptop bags strung over my shoulder. At $139 a pop (available in October) that’s pretty cheap for being able to set up a monitor array at a coffee shop. Not to mention the relief of not having to lug a stand a those gangly power cords around. Here’s the spiel straight off the AOC press release. Missing anything?
The 16-inch e1649fwu model also offers impressive image quality with 50,000,00:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 5ms response time and 1366 x 786 resolution. A handy built-in Smart Stand pivots out when needed and stores flush against the back of the monitor when not in use. The foldable stand supports both portrait and landscape display. Because the monitor does not require a power cord or VGA cable, it permits maximum portability while still allowing the display of multiple applications like instant messenger, movie player, gaming and digital picture frame apps.
