There are a lot of people searching for different things about SolidWorks out there. A lot of the traffic I get is from other sites related to SolidWorks or CAD. In the vein of trying to get more exposure to this site, I read a few blogs to gain some insight on blogging, writing and marketing.

One way to get more traffic is to link to others or have others link to you. Links from a high traffic site help. It doesn’t get more basic than that. That’s exactly what Tim Schroeder of is having a very unique contest for. He is giving four people the chance to have their own 125 x 125 banner ad shown on John Chow for free. It’s a good idea, because, even though he’s paying for the ad, he’s getting tons of links from other sites. This is good for search engines and therefore getting more people to your site.
