Unless you’ve been churning out legendary solos, filling stadiums, and selling millions of records since the 1970s, the likelihood of having your own signature guitar model is pretty slim.

Launching this week, the new Fender Mod Shop is changing all that and will now let anybody design and customize their own signature guitar model from a wide variety of options and combinations for different looks and playing styles.

Launching with four classic Fender models including the Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass and Jazz Bass, the platform features a curated set of design options including body color, pickups, pickguard material, fingerboard, hardware color and style, bridge and orientation. Once the design is completed, the custom guitars are manufactured within 30 days shipped from Fender’s Corona, California factory.

Says Andy Mooney, CEO of Fender:

“The more comfortable you are with your guitar, the better you play. Mod Shop grants you the ability and convenience to create a factory-manufactured model truly tailored to your personal preferences. With Mod Shop, you get exactly what you want, in every way.”

It’s worth noting that Fender previously had a variety of customization options, but the Mod Shop looks to be setting the foundation for a more robust and user-friendly platform with more models and custom options on the way. Get yours over at Fender Mod Shop.
