The low hum of 3D printers echoed through the historic warehouse in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park District this morning as MakerBot ‘Productors’ were busy at work building Replicator 2’s and 2X’s. Today, Bre Pettis and NYC city representatives presented the all new MakerBot Factory…a two-story 50,000 sq ft warehouse filled with nothing but…you guessed it…MakerBots up the wazoo. We had a chance to stop by this morning and take a peek at what the ‘Factory That Makes Little Factories’ looks like behind the scenes.

From MakerBot:

MakerBot brings new meaning to “Made in the USA” and even “Made in NY” with “Made with Brooklyn Pride!” MakerBot is excited to announce it has moved and expanded its production facility to a larger location in Brooklyn, where MakerBot currently employees more than 100 “productors” tasked with building MakerBot Desktop 3D Printers. And… MakerBot is hiring another 50+ employees at its new location in coming months.

The MakerBot factory is located at 148 39th Street.
