When it comes to guilty pleasures in film geek land, look no further than the dozens of YouTube videos created by the group of blacksmiths, machinists and swordssmiths over at Man at Arms.

The group, who have built everything from Oddjob’s Hat to Arya’s Needle, are masters of documenting the process of replicating forged weapons as they appear on-screen in many of pop culture’s favorite franchises; starting with a sketch, the group builds each of the weapons from scratch using raw materials before ‘testing’ them against an arsenal of mannequins and beer cans.

More recently, the group turned their attention to the Lord of the Rings trilogy to create Aragorn’s Sword, the Narsil.

In the popular story, the sword had been shattered to pieces before being reforged into its current iteration. To keep up with accuracies, this is exactly what the Man at Arms team did when recreating it into what would later become the Anduril sword – just like in the story:

Although the Man at Arms replica is one-of-a-kind, those who might be interested in owning their own can pick one up over at Amazon for less than two benjamins.
