For his ‘about’ section on his Behance profile page, designer Francois Xavier Saint Georges of Montreal describes his work as “low tech, bare hands, and experimental”. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that his slingshot design is entirely void of the actual ‘slingshot’ itself. With his clever go-anywhere design, you can pack this badboy into just about any pocket you have and be ready for when those soda cans start their trash talkin’.

(Un)useful Slingshot

Made from a laser cut 1/4 inch steel plate and accompanying elastic band and leather pocket, this simple design is a perfect example of how today’s ease of digital fabrication plays nicely with yesterday’s classic, primitive designs. While the concept isn’t for sale (yet), the design seems pretty straight-forward for those with access to a laser cutter. Before you get all Action Bronson this weekend though, remember what the master of all slingshots, Mr. Joerg Sprave has to say about safety: Always wear eye protection! Also—this could make a great accessory for a micro-survival pack?
