It was only two weeks ago when LEGO released their extremely detailed “life-like” replica of the iconic Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a 2,704-part build sequence modeled after the real-life vehicle’s assembly process. Although the $299 kit is already out of stock, LEGO wants to settle your woes with yet another impressive automobile kit modeled closely after the real thing.

At 1,167 pieces, the original Volkswagen Beetle has been painstakingly recreated as a LEGO® Creator Expert reproduction model with a number of special features and elements – including new brick designs – that help recreate the classic curved design of the iconic 1960s car.

Among other features of the model include the distinctive Beetle characteristics, including an azure-blue color scheme, curved fenders, flat windshield, VW logo, and an authentic 4-cylinder air-cooled engine and fuel tank. Inside the car, the accessible interior features beige-colored, forward-tilting seats, dashboard and steering wheel, and the roof-mounted surfboard and a cooler box can be removed depending on your particular taste for 1960s beach bingo nostalgia.

At just $99, the VW Beetle is $200 cheaper than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and will leave you with significantly more bucks in your back pocket for filling that beach cooler when it goes on sale this August over at LEGO.
