With so many cool things coming out each week, it can be hard to wade through all the rock-awesomeness. With ‘Cool Tools’, we’ve done the hard work for you.

This week we saw everything from a new take on layered felt to a T-Rex-inspired heat lamp for your shop and one-heck-of-a trippy audio/visual experiment that was filmed in a fishbowl.

Ready? Let’s go!

This week we look at:

DESIGN

Feltology

DES01

“Feltology is a project that attempts to highlight the qualities of the felt and put it in foreground. Through the use of resin as gluing and hardener material the felt fabric becomes a sort of sculptural material easy to model, cut and sculpt.”

Ora Teapot

DES02

“The Ora Teapot is a double walled glass teapot with a removable wire tea infuser to prevent leaves from pouring in your cup.”

APPS

Jelly Jump

APP01

“Little jellies need you more than ever before! They keep drowning over and over again. Only you can keep them safe.”

Do Note by IFTTT

APP02

“Do Note empowers you to create your own personalized notepad with just a tap. Save and share notes with Recipes that connect your notepad to Evernote, Twitter, Google Calendar, and hundreds of Channels you use every day.”

DIY

Colored Concrete for Molds

DIY01

“I mixed the pigment with the water before adding the water to the dry concrete mix. Use clean water and add pigment in proportion to the manufacturer’s recommendations. You can increase the color intensity by adding more pigment and decrease it by adding less.”

T-Rex Trophy Heat Lamp

DIY02

“The T-rex Trophy Heat lamp was a project I did back in 2013. The concept is to make a hunter’s trophy without killing any animals.”

ROCK AWESOMENESS

Waterballet

“…This audio/visual project was filmed inside of a fishbowl…”

Ex Machina Official Trailer

YouTube video

“To erase the line between man and machine is to obscure the line between men and gods – in theaters April 10, 2015”

And there you have it!
