It’s not everyday where you hear about a twenty-something who has not only built an impressive feat of engineering (alongside his grandfather no less)…but has also turned down six-figure offers for the build. However Zac Mihajlovic of Camden, Australia is not your everyday superhero, either.

The self-confessed Batman fanatic has built what is claimed to be the world’s only street-legal version of the 1989-era Batmobile as seen in the original 1989 Batman film starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.

Rather than selling off the car to the highest-bidder, Mihajlovic has focused on using the Batmobile–as well as himself dressing up as Batman–to fulfill wishes for children in Australia through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“It’s got adjustable suspension, and it’s got a working afterburner which is from the film,” says Mihajlovic.

“No machine guns, sadly. No grappling hooks. No bombs that come out of the wheel. Pretty much beyond that, yeah, it’s pretty close.”
