I tell ya, there’s nothing quite like viewing the inside of well design gadget. Not because it makes me feel like peeling back my own flesh to see if it looks similar, but because it shows exactly how much design and redesign went into it. The HTC Evo 4G is just such a device. It’s no surprise it is HTC’s best selling phone ever. The size, shape and feel are just about perfect in every way. Donn Koh, lead designer on the project is largely responsible for it’s beauty. Now, forget the fact that I went from Sprint store to Sprint store till being kicked out for taking pictures with it like a hand model and feast your eyes upon one the most gorgeous smartphones designs of modern mobile history.

For Evo, I had the chance to work directly with the engineering team from the start, and all the way through to production. The close collaboration was a long process, with a lot of back and forth between engineering optima and design ideals, but it was crucial for a good outcome.Donn Koh
