Synonymous with innovation for more than seven decades, the Danish design house Bodum owes much of its success to their visionary founder Peter Bodum. In his very own words – Good design doesn’t have to be expensive – let us add to that – Nothing should stop Good Design from looking and feeling expensive. For example this conceptual Bodum Coffee & Tea Maker by designer Sunny Ting Wai Wong. It’s elegant and innovative and makes us want to dabble in a life full of luxuries.
Conforming to the ethos of the original, it is uncanny how Sunny has managed to maintain the design language of the original makers. The appliance is basically a borosilicate glass reservoir & beverage filter that is integrated together. The two modules are detachable and work in a way that ensures you never spill any tea or coffee. This should be good for those who sleepwalk through their morning coffee/tea routine with closed eyes.
More than anything else, the coffee and tea brewing process looks to be a delight. Perhaps we can brew a new culture of ‘tea ceremony’ with a European twist. Ok, we need a coffee break now.
