Last week we gave you a heads up about a new short film from creative firm Bassett & Partners that explores what the meaning of a design brief is from the point of view of a variety of creative visionaries.
This morning, the informative short film went live and is totally worth 26 minutes of your time.
The film is made up of a series of one-on-one interviews with Frank Gehry (architect and Founder of Gehry Partners, LLC), Yves Béhar (industrial designer and CEO of fuseproject), Maira Kalman (Illustrator), John C. Jay (founder of The Garage and partner at Wieden + Kennedy), David Rockwell (architect/designer and CEO of the Rockwell Group), and John Boiler (CEO of 72 and Sunny).
Not only does the film offer some great insight from some of the most proven leaders in the field of design, but it also offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at how some of these design masters work…both with shots of their workspaces and how they interact with their teams.
“The end goal of Briefly is to help inform and inspire future generations of collaborators to write better briefs and manage the briefing process differently in order to help lead to exceptional creative results.
So while every project will still start with a brief, the dream is that more projects end up exceptional because of how these creative titans inspire (or re-inspire) the way we all think about briefs.”
