Does anyone not like LEGOs?
After watching the trailer for the upcoming documentary on the iconic toy, it would appear that you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody who doesn’t.
The documentary, which is simply titled A LEGO Brickumentary, is the first of its kind in that it tracks literally everything LEGO – ranging from the history of the toy, how it’s manufactured, what people do with them and most importantly – why they’re still so valuable in an age of touchscreen devices and virtual experiences.
Of course, we’ve seen snippets of each of these elements in various books and YouTube videos, but few have gone as in-depth as this Brickumentary does. The filmmakers don’t just want to tell the story of LEGO and their collectors; they want to capture the human desire to build … and LEGOs just so happen to be among the most simple platforms for both beginners and experts alike.

“If you thought you knew the world of LEGO®, you don’t know brick. Step into the amazing real-life world of the global phenomenon that will captivate fans of all ages.”
Although the documentary – which is narrated by Jason Bateman – premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, it will be officially released in theaters on July 31st … this should give you plenty of time to clear off that shelf space for all the LEGO kits you’ll be buying immediately after.
