With so many cool things coming out each week, it can be hard to wade through all the rock-awesomeness. With ‘Cool Tools’, we’ve done the hard work for you.

This week we saw everything from a lamp inspired by “an old headlight found around the workshop” and a vintage racing-inspired motorcycle to a quick and easy way to make a pour-over coffee maker, how to add Star Wars movie FX directly from your iPhone, an impressive new video from Red Bull, and more…

Ready? Let’s go!

This week we look at:

“It all started from some old headlight we had around the workshop. We wanted to give them some use, and make something funny to have around the house; not some dull ugly lamp. The nuts are standard as well, but I’ve been to a few Home Depots that don’t have them in stock. If you have a hard time finding the nuts, you can always order them from McMasters…”

Wood Hot Wheels Track

“This is a simple Hot Wheels/Matchbox car track I made out of some wood scraps for my son who has recently started to show an interest in them. We really wanted to make our own track, but weren’t happy with the cardboard versions we made. Being one that likes to take a simple thing and really dig in, inspiration hit while cleaning out my garage…”
