Away on a long journey, far from home, far from the one you love. It’s lonely and a feeling that a good ol’ thumb-tastic make-out session could cure in two vibrations of a thumb kiss. If you’re reading this out loud to your co-workers, pause and let the thought of what you just said sink in for a moment. Pair is an app for couples. It’s changing how they’re are able to interact when apart from each other and it has all the features you need in one single app.

Pair. The App for couples.

The Pair app is from TenthBit Inc., created by Oleg Kostour and crew, the same people bringing you the Maide Controller. Speaking with Oleg about the idea behind the app, they needed a way to stay in touch with their loved one while far from home, working all hours of the day and night. Text message, Facebook and Instagram just wasn’t cutting it. They needed something private, between themselves. A way to share, but not share with everyone. Pair was born.

We realized that we were sending over 90% of our messages to a single person using tools that were designed to send messages to everyone you know. There didn’t seem to be a better way. So we made one 🙂

Pair is made to keep all your moments and memories in a single place. The features:

Private SMS – Connect to only one other person for the most private messaging experience
Free Messaging – Send photos, videos, and text messages for free
Sketch together – Draw cute sketches for your partner in realtime, or play Tic-tac-toe!
Quick-Thought – Send a “Thinking of You” with a single tap of a button
Thumb kiss – Match thumbprints together for a vibrating response
Share location – Instantly share your location with your partner
Reminders – Get reminders for important dates such as anniversaries, and birthdays
Shared Todo List – Use your shared todo list to remind your partner to pick something up on the way home

As I told Oleg right before they launched the app. Now, when I’m thinking of my wife, I then think of letting her know. There’s an action I can apply to it. That doesn’t happen with other apps or even text… not to mention the thumb-kissing and sketching.

I think these guys may have just saved a lot of relationships.

Pair will be available for Android soon. You can download the Pair app from iTunes here
