Apple Ads Make Good Fun of Vista

I’m not to keen on Macs, even though I was raised on them years ago, along with meat, potatoes and iodized salt. You may have seen the Apple ads on TV. Now you may start seeing some even more creative ones online. Macs don’t run SolidWorks (for shame), but you can’t beat a good ad, especially when it shows up on sites reviewing your competitor. See video below.

I just completed an installation of SolidWorks 2008 on a Macbook Pro running Bootcamp.

Last week I installed SolidWorks 2007 on a Macbook running Parallels.

Other than a mouse glitch on the system running Parallels that was easily resolved, both systems seem to run pretty well.

Not doing anything heavy duty, but did run some COSMOS FEA analysis on the Macbook Pro.

All in all, it went quite smoothly in both cases. The Macbook install was pretty slow however. I suspect Parallels has something to do with it.

Hey John, pretty cool. I wonder about that from time to time. With Leopard out and a new Macstore in town it’s even more tempting. Thanks for the info.

Have you run into any problems since your installation?
I’m a drafter and want to start picking up side work, but I’m a Mac-guy, and don’t have the money for a top of the line MacBook Pro, so I was wondering how well 2007 runs on your MacBook. Are the graphics acceptable? Any major glitches, besides the normal Solidworks one’s? Thank you, in advance.
