vuuch-logo2Vuuch.com. A completely new way to discuss and communicate your designs, or maybe we should just call it Pure 3D Collaboration. It’s the dawning of something very interesting in design environments that require information from multiple people with easy access to that info.

Vuuch.com is just a few days away from launching the SolidWorks add-on that will allow you to communicate and share your design from your SolidWorks interface.

Who’s behind Vuuch?
Chris Williams. Former CEO of Seemage. You know, the company Dassault bought and renamed 3DVIA Composer? Yep, that Chris Williams. [Interview at Novedge] He’s taking on the notion of unorganized design and putting ‘team’ back into what our deep inboxed and miles of high-bandwidth have slowly eroded.

What does Vuuch do?

Vuuch removes the need to organize your inbox, by associating your design discussions with your design. By using Vuuch your discussions are automatically managed. For example if you need to ask someone on your team about the tolerance on a feature, you right click the feature, type the message, add participants and hit send. All replies will come back to you through this file and that feature. As well you can go to the WEB portal and navigate your discussions by file type or user specific groups. This is only the beginning of where we will take the technology… Another cool aspect of this association is even a year later the discussions about that feature can be found by anyone, through this feature. Therefore the elements of your design decisions are maintained within the model.

Vuuch.com at SolidWorks World 2009

We have been fortunate to have Jeff Ray sponsor us at SWW09 with the objective of learning what people think about the technology and the concept. We will have a booth, kiosk #1 and will be there doing demos. People can come by take a look and tell us what they think, they can get a quick demo and they can sign up for the SolidWorks Add-on trial version, which we will release in the next few days.

Do you want it?
Stop by Vuuch.com to let them know what you think about a technology like this. A few days you’ll be able to try it out for yourself, so if you’re at SolidWorks World, stop by Kiosk #1 in the Partner Pavilion to see what all the craziness is about. This could be the one thing you bring back from SolidWorks World that changes how you work for the better.

Check it out. I think you’ll like it.
