Rejoice, creators of instructables.com! For if you ever wanted to learn how to use a table saw, manual lathe, CNC mill, or a certain crafting machine, Autodesk’s Pier 9 technology centers have heard your plea and made a slew of workshops to help you get your bearings without losing any important body parts. In total, 25 classes—classified into Wood Shop, Metal Shop, CNC Shop, and 3D Printshop categories— are available for enrollment or download.

As you may have guessed, Wood Shop covers using the miter saw, the table saw, and bandsaw, the drill press, the sander, the planer, the router table, and the jointer. If the material you’re working with can give you splinters, chances are the machine you need can be found in this module.

For more heavy duty materials, the Metal Shop includes nine tutorials for the manual lathe, manual mill, cold saw, horizontal bandsaw, vertical bandsaw, metal drill press, metal abrasives, as well as tips on TIG welding and MIG welding.

For the heaviest machines, five classes are taught in the CNC shop. These include the DMS CNC router class, the HAAS CNC mill class, the ShopBot CNC class, the Waterjet class, and the Matsuura 5-axis mill class.

Each class comes with a series of tutorials to train you in different aspects of the machine or skill you wish to learn. And in case you were wondering, yes, these classes are totally FREE and only require an Instructables account to attend (downloading the files requires you to upgrade to premium, however).
