Although we’re just as excited as anybody else about the future of manufacturing – particularly AR applications, Cloud-based CAD and improvements to digital fabrication workflows – our appreciation for traditional craftsmanship techniques is still shining as bright as ever.
Among others who have taken manufacturing goods to the complete opposite end of the spectrum is the appropriately named YouTuber Primitive Technology.
Previously, the skilled tool maker has shown us how to make everything from a cord drill to a celt stone axe using only found materials in the forest. Needless to say, those who study his techniques will have a better chance of survival if they ever find themselves literally up shit creek without a paddle.
In the most recent stone age demonstration, Primitive Technology takes us on the journey of locating a tree to developing a usable bow and arrow … arrow quiver made from bark included:

For the archery geeks out there, the finished bow is 1.25 m (55 inches) long and shoots 60 cm (2 feet) long arrows with an estimated draw weight of 15 kg (35 pounds). The dimensions of the bow were based on those given in The SAS Survival Handbook by John Lofty Wiseman.

For those worried about successfully catching dinner, you can always learn how to make poisonous black beans safe to eat.
