Society has become more accepting of four-legged pets when it comes to where they are allowed to go. A decade ago, you might catch flack for bringing your dog to the public park. But these days, you’ll see dogs and cats in stores or malls wearing miniature costumes while lounging it up with high society. Bigger pets are usually found on a leash, but the smaller ones can be found in handbags, backpacks, and even cribs.
U-pet is designer Tom Stevenson’s answer for a go-to carrier for tiny pets. While pet carriers are not all that unusual, these bags all feature breather holes, soft cushion bases (because not even your cat wants to sit on your makeup collection), and a non-toxic material composition.
But these aren’t the features which get passers-by gawking at owners of these bags; that honor goes to the transparent semi-sphere window which allows pets to view the outside world from the confines of their case.
It may look like the cat is being held against its will (it probably is), but the window is designed to serve as a way for your pet to see their surroundings without nipping or clawing them. Now, I’m not entirely sure how this is a better alternative to an open backpack, but at least it gives your belongings extra security and that fresh pet smell… yeah, we’ll go with that.

When not in use, the semi-sphere window can be replaced with a mesh panel to keep onlookers from seeing the furry contents of your bag. U-pet has backpacks, messenger bags, and even strollers which can hold even the most stubborn Shih Tzu. You can find out more about them on the product’s official site.
