Although we’ve been seeing an increase in electric skateboard options as of late, few have really taken off to become go-to modes of transportation – yet. However, when it comes to the wide range of various water toys that allow us to become the Rocketeer or James Bond for a few minutes in our lives, people show up in droves.

The latest device will most certainly hit home for anybody that’s ever wanted to try riding a hoverboard over water like the infamous Back to the Future Part II scene (heck, we’ll take a hoverboard without water for that matter).

Billed as an “electric wakeboard,” the Radinn Wakejet can best be described as a jet-powered wakeboard that allows a user to cruise around a body of water without the need for a boat to be pulled behind. In essence, it’s wakeboarding without…the ‘wake’.

The Carbon Kevlar composite board is powered via an onboard battery that can power its single jet engine for up to 30 minutes at full-throttle and can be re-charged in as little as 60 minutes for round two (or twenty). As for top speed, the device is capable of getting up to an impressive 28 miles per hour…meaning that you can get a hefty 14 miles of riding per charge.

Currently available for pre-order, the creators are in the stages of production and have been testing the system thoroughly over the past year – the last day of testing was just days ago and the company even shared a video:
