As far as LEGO-inspired block building sets go, aspiring entrepreneurs have ran through the entire gamut of possibilities including different methods of interlocking the pieces to ways of fabricating them using a 3D printer. But how many people have simply just scaled up?
In what might be a childhood fantasy come true for some, a new company called EverBlock Systems has successfully created a modular building system of giant plastic blocks similar to LEGO bricks that can be used to build everything from furniture to architectural features and even entire rooms.
Unsurprisingly, the company’s own founder and CEO Arnon Rosan was obsessed with LEGOs as a child and figured that there might be a demand for the large-scale modular building system inspired by LEGO for both personal and industrial purposes.
“From a young age, I have always loved to build things, tinker with objects, and try out new ideas,” explains Rosan.
“Whether its in balsa wood, plastic, foam core, or paper, I love to shape things and I am fascinated by what people can conceive of, if they open their imaginations. My journey working with physical objects started with lego and plastic models as a kid and continued throughout my life and into my business career.”
Currently, the EverBlock System consists of four universal parts – a full sized 12″ block, a 6″ half-sized block, a 3″ one-quarter sized block, and a 12″ finishing cap that all interlock in 15 different colors. For more structurally demanding applications such as complete rooms or built-in bars, connector clips, hanging clips, and reinforcement rods are available while metal baseplates and feet can be used for additional stability.
“I have been fortunate to have been able to work with physical products all my life and to have had unique platforms that allowed me to be creative,” adds Rosan.
“It is my love of seeing what can be created that led me to found EverBlock. I hope that EverBlock opens ups opportunities for designers and inventors, both professionals and individuals and provides the basis for new types of innovation and creation. Keep making things!”
Whether you’re looking to find another purpose for that spare conference room or simply just want to finally build a new shelf, the EverBlock System is not merely just a concept – the blocks are for sale right now.
