For those well-versed in their Vietnamese cuisine, Pho (or phở) is one of the most common and loved dishes that can be eaten at pretty much any time of day. It is the official national soup of Vietnam and is often spoken highly-of due to it’s wide range of complex flavors and the implementation of cold and fresh ingredients upon serving. However anybody who has been to a Vietnamese restaurant has seen the waiters or waitresses having to carry around multiple dishes that the meal requires…and oftentimes lose track of them in the process. The Lantern by New York-based product designer and engineer Omid Sadri is quite possibly the best solution for simplifying the pho delivery, eating, and cleanup experience, ever.

Lantern: Tableware Inspired by Paper Lanterns

Inspired by paper lanterns commonly seen in Vietnam, Omid worked through some concepts that were then tested by friends and family over the past two years. What has resulted is so flawlessly executed for the intended purpose, that it’s surprising it took this long to see. Similar to the popular bento lunch boxes, creating multiple levels for various food items without touching enables the user to do so much more with the contained tableware:
