The concept of remodeling a home constantly never dies out. From writing on your bedroom walls as a kid to choosing which fixtures to hang in your house as an adult, the appearance of your dwelling can tell visitors just how creative (or boring) you are as a person.
Still, it can be quite costly. Given how much (quality) furniture and paintings are worth, you’ll need to spend quite a lot of money to regularly change your interior design.
KARVD wood panels try to work around this expensive problem by making its backplates and panels removable and rotatable. Instead of buying different panels or constantly replacing them, these square plates only need a Philips screwdriver to change their orientation.
Decorative panels and whole cabinets can be slid onto the backplates, with the same wood designs on the panels being featured on the cabinet doors. Since the backplates can be rotated, removed, and replaced, an untold number of designs and patterns can be created using just a handful of wooden panels.
The panels come in light and dark hues and measure 19.75” x 19.75” x 1.125”. Likewise, the cabinets come in either of the two colors and measure 19.75” x 19.75” x 6.75”.
While we love the innovative concept and carved wood execution, it seems not as many people are a fan of rotatable wall designs as the creators at House Van Holland would have hoped. The Kickstarter project only managed to get $3,492 funded out of its planned $8,000 goal. That said, the product website is still going strong—so Kickstarter or not, there may just be hope yet.
