Have you waited long enough? In 2009, Mcneel announced Beta for Rhino 5. I’ve lost count how many years ago that is. Low and behold, last week, Mcneel announces the release of Rhino 5 in a 34-word blog post and with it, the reveal of a brand new website. Both have been a long, long, long time coming–as has been the Mac version of Rhino 5… which may, as it stands, be a longer time coming.
Rhino 5
If you snagged a beta of Rhino 5, you already know about a lot of the 2,000+ enhancements you’ve waited for all these long, hard years. You can of course, download Rhino 5 here or buy it for the low, low price of $995. But what about a Mac version?
We are committed to developing a real OS X version Rhino. It is an ongoing process. We need feedback from both expert and novice Rhino users. We are willing to spend whatever time and effort it takes to get it right, but we need you to tell us what is wrong. During development, pre-release Rhino OS X is free to anyone willing to provide feedback.
More details on that and beta available here. Rhino 6 development isn’t on vacation either…
As a Rhino 5 user, you are invited to be a key contributor to the next releases, including service releases (bug fixes), labs projects (early prototype projects), the OS X version for Mac users, and Rhino 6. Getting involved is the best way to get what you want from the next Rhino version….Shortly after Rhino 5 ships, Rhino 6 pre-release builds will be available to Rhino 5 users in phases.
More info on that here. Just think, in 2016, you can say you were part of the first Rhino 6 phase and (maybe) the one who helped Rhino (maybe) launch on the Mac.
