Last week, it was announced that Luxion was updating their popular Keyshot 5 rendering platform to make your CAD rendering game even more flexible and powerful. The update includes everything from new procedural textures and options, support for the growing lineup of multi-touch PCs, Apple Retina Display support and more.

Yesterday, Denmark-based Sørensen Leather released their entire 289-count material library onto Keyshot Cloud to give users real-world material testing capabilities in the Keyshot environment. Since the materials are directly from the Sørensen catalog, users can test different colors and textures against different lighting conditions and then easily reference the material when establishing a BOM for a final product design.

”When I was a little girl my father showed me my first hide ever,” said Sørensen CEO Louise Vesterskov Sørensen. “When I felt its smoothness and saw how beautiful it looked, then I knew leather was going to be more than just a passion for me, rather a life style. Luxion has helped a lot bringing this passion into the digital era. It brings me great joy to be able to share this passion with fellow leather enthusiasts as well as professionals in such a new and inspiring way!”

Luxion’s Chief Scientist Henrik Wann Jensen added, “The level of quality in Sørensen Leather is beyond compare…with this partnership, KeyShot users have a wider range of leather materials that accurately match the physical samples.”
