With so many cool things coming out each week, it can be hard to wade through all the rock-awesomeness. With ‘Cool Tools’, we’ve done the hard work for you.

This week we saw everything from a storage container inspired by eating yogurt to a hut on wheels, a new way to write emails, the launch of the PancakeBot on Kickstarter and more…

Ready? Let’s go!

This week we look at:

DESIGN

L-Concept Motorcycle

Des01

“Every motorcycle has a brand new engine fitted and tested by the Bandit Chief. Still, our bikes are evolutions of older models. Pieces of art will always need tender love and care.”

Carved by Kutarq Studio

DES02

“Inspired by the texture left in a yoghurt while eating it with a spoon , The Carved Bowls are a set of solid wood pin trays that combine with different sized concave areas.”

APPS

Haystack Business Card Reader

APP01

“The next generation of business card reader app is here. Haystack is the only business card reader which makes the cards you get look better on your phone. Haystack can also share your own business card straight from your phone with anyone, so you never get caught without a card again.”

DART Email

APP02

“Dart lets you set predefined answers in your emails so the recipient just has to click a button to reply – no worrying about composing a message, less opportunity for procrastination and most importantly, totally unambiguous.”

DIY

Marble Planters

DIY01

“I experimented using my new tile saw to cut stone tile from the Home Depot into strips that can be glued together to form planters. I’m always interested in introducing new materials and have long wanted to add marble and slate to the list of materials I’m comfortable working with. This project is really easy and the materials to make it are surprisingly inexpensive. The result is a minimalist and modern planter that is made from real stone! “

A Hut on Wheels

DIY02

“I’ve wanted to build one of these for years and used to sit on the train to work, sketching designs. Eventually I left that job, to pursue my own interests, including this project.”

ROCK AWESOMENESS

Leonard in Slow Motion

“Leonard (Martin Starr – “Freaks and Geeks”, “Silicon Valley”) exists in slow motion but lives in a regular speed world.”

PancakeBot Launches on Kickstarter

YouTube video

“Don’t just make pancakes. Create them! Introducing PancakeBot – The coolest addition to your kitchen. *Batter not included”

And there you have it!
