Buckle your eyeball harnesses and strap back your jaw, the Gnomon Workshop is coming up this fall and it’s your chance to see 3D artist doing their thing LIVE. There are 10 artists in the mix at the two day event and you’ve likely heard of many of them before. They’re professionals in their field that have worked on some of the biggest movies and games ever made, including Star Trek: Intro Darkness, Pacific Rim, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Diablo III, Prometheus and so much more. It may just be the reason to take that trip to Southern California you always planned.

Gnomon Workshop Live

So, it all happens in sunny Hollywood, California at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects, September 21st and 22nd. It’s a weekend chock full of demos and talks from some of the top talent in the media and entertainment industry, going from 9:00-6:00 each day with each artist getting a two-hour time slot to show thier artistry and and share their knowledge. Among them are two I’ve come to know about working with Luxion, Vitaly Bulgarov and Dominic Qwek–Incredible artists that know how to push the level of detail to crazy extremes (See below).

This is perhaps the best opportunity to both meet the artists and see how they go through their workflow, but also ask them questions about the process. It’s less than two months away, but you can save $50 off the registration price until Wednesday, August 21st with early bird registration. This will get you into the two-day event for $200 and students get in for $150. SO WORTH IT. You can sign up here and get more information on the Gnomon Workshop site.
