Beautiful Architectural Design in SolidWorks

solidworks-architecture.jpgEvery once in a while I’ll come across some really nice looking images of models created with on Flickr, but finding exceptional Architectural Design created with is rare.

It’s not that can’t be done in , it’s justs been focused primarily as a solution in the MCAD market. was my first interest and its excited to see some of the possibilities beyond motor housings and plastic moldings.

The designs below were created by Elmar Van Reijswoud from Gorinchem, Netherlands. He currently works at MAAQ Signing & Interior and you can check out his portfolio here.

The words wow and oh my come to mind. Its very cool to see what can be done outside of sprockets and gears. This is actually inspiring.

hmm solidworks rendering does not do it for me and the interface of solidworks is way to primitive to do a really really good render.
I use Blender it is free it is simple (if you get true the basics).
Here is a wheel i rendered model is a wrml from solidworks.

Nice, but, it's true, compared to what you see in those rendering contests, like the ones that Rob Rodriguez usually hosts, this is missing something.

I had seen a scene done by my friend in Solidworks for an Architectural design some years ago.

SolidWorks can surely try to enter this market if its able to add the required attributes in there software to get the things done for Architectural design.

Though there are great softwares for creating Architectural designs, still if wanted to increase the business the Company can still try to have a joint venture or buy some company which already makes this software.

Could be great to See Solidworks in offices world wide.
