Multi-Touch for Product Configuration. BMW Revs it Up.

Finally, I mean FINALLY were seeing some development come out with those fancy Microsoft Surface multi-touch displays and BMW is the company making it cool to have multiple appendages.

The ‘BMW Product Navigator’ allows those in the mood for a BMW to select options, colors, see video of their configurations and save it to USB to take home and show the kids after their racquetball lessons. Time for a test drive.

Hmmm. Product configuration done with a multi-touch input device. Interesting, don’t ya think?Schmeer Schmeer video after the break.

OMG - what a giant waste of potential - there are so many other much more useful and meaningful applications....
  • EXACTLY what I was thinking. The one edifying aspect of this is the whole interactive/adpative (albeit preprogrammed) aspect of configuring products via a multi-touch device. Just wait though Heinz, once this hits the mass markets... even better interface tech.
  • Technology and playtoy's for the upper crust, but none for me :(
