I posted this a while back, so I need to update to how I'm hadndling tasks now. I use Toodledo a lot since it's on my iPhone. for full-up PM function though, I still lean toward central desktop. I also really like the development going on with activecollab. any others you've tried?

I want so know who has used some of the alternatives. I think Basecamp is okay. But lacks some serious reporting and threading capabilities. I've heard SocialText has a project management capacity too.

I read similar article also named ns to Manage Projects and Get Organized Online | SolidSmack - SolidWorks 3D CAD Technology Design Blog, and it was completely different. Personally, I agree with you more, because this article makes a little bit more sense for me

Benny,

 I couldn't agree with you more . I have also implemented Communiclique into my office and I have seen WONDERFUL results from the use of this product. After the 30 days I was hooked. I understand that you like Free Software Josh however, voice over IP makes the cost worth it. Check out the site

Hi Benny, They all have to do with organizing or managing projects and I've use these here at least a little. I prefer the free ones, even though they have fewer features sometimes. I think at least having a free version open up more imaginative ways of creating revenue for the company. no doubt, if the product is good enough people will pay, activecollab, seems to have done well, they were once "the free version of Basecamp" but since have such a large user base they were able to expand into commercial versions. anyway, thanks for the comment. I'll look into that site you mention.

Josh,

I see no familiar names except have some prior experience with Google Docs. I will definitely take a look at these. Are these all project management tools? I have integrated CommuniClique's web-based project online collaboration software into my developing business several months ago after a friend referred me to the free 30-day promotion they are running now. I cant be happier with the results I have been getting. I am always looking for efficient programs to implement in my developing business. Thanks for the list.

Best Regards,
Benny Tam

Hey - thanks for including us in your list (and with good company too). We just released some nice upgrades to ProjectSpaces. Here's a quick overview of some of what's new:

* Multiple file uploader

* iCAL support

* Contact export

* Customizable homepages

* Hierarchical task lists in a new "Workplan" tab

* More RSS! - Adding RSS was so popular we decided to add another feed. Now Project users can elect to track new content across all your Projects with just a single feed.

Let us know what you think!

Thanks,
Kurt

I also just found this other site that may help in picking a solution. It's called Projectizer and has a lot of info on some of the ones I mention above as well as some others. They also have categories for Calendar, Tasks, and Groupware along with a feed for the site. It hasn't been updated since August which makes me wonder, but it's a good start.

Hi Net harry, this is by no means a comprehensive list. Thanks for the additional product. It looks like it has a great interface and the timeline is a nice addition I haven't seen in some others.
