how to extend a microsoft vista trialSeems that most of the comments about running SolidWorks on a 64bit Microsoft Vista system are positive and there are quite a few that are curious about what will work best.

If you want to run programs on Vista, you may want to test them out first by downloading a trial version of Vista. However, the 30 day evaluation may not be long enough for you to push all the buttons. In that case, here’s how to quickly extend the trial from 30 days to another 30 days up to 3 times.

  1. Click on the start button and type “Cmd” into the Start Search box.
  2. Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter to open the command prompt.
  3. Type “slmgr -rearm” and hit enter.
  4. Reboot the computer.

Make sure to re-arm the system again 29 or 30 days later. That’s it. I’m working on a way to get it re-activated after the trial has expired. I’ll update on that when I’ve seen if it’s possible.
