Now, think about it folks. When you’re cruising across the rocks, roads and roundabouts on your normal bicycle, you never know when a gaping water hole is going to open up right in front of you. Certain doom.
Fortunately, this bicycle concept, could save you from landing face down in a muddy channel plus make you look kinda cool. It’s making the rounds and just about everyone is saying, check.. this… OUT.
The Di-cycle concept, created back in 2005 and on display at the Designhuis Bike Show (22 June - 5 Oct 08), is from GBO Design and Engineering in Helmond, Netherlands.
It was developed as an idea to navigate the varying land and water common to Helmond. Here’s what Tom Schreuder of GBO Design had to say about the design.
The Di-Cycle was designed using Rhino. The rendering on the website is of the original Rhino-model. The full-scale model you see on the pictures was created in Unigraphics.
Yep, sorry, not done in SolidWorks. But I believe GBO does use SolidWorks for some of their design. The faster this thing goes, the cooler I imagine it would be to ride it. What do you think?
