The SolidWorks World Wireless Zone Sign. - The real sign and my interpretive art of what the wireless connection felt like outside of the Zone.

The SolidWorks World Wireless Zone Sign. - The real sign and interpretive alternate of what wireless connection felt like outside of the Zone.

There were two Wireless Zone at SolidWorks World 2009 (not including the Press Room). My advice to resort conference centers… Yeah, your big, but get a wide area wifi net. More conferences will use you.

Did they take the carpet into account when they designed the graphics for SWW09?

Not only does the conference wireless suck. Disney charges fourteen bucks a day for 10Mb wired access. Blah.

i went to a wireless zone and begun the “connection” process. after 10 minutes of trying (to no avail) i got up and broke the silence amongst the 10+ attendees and asked each person if they had a connection. only 2 people (with macs) were connected. after talking to the front desk they sent IT to reset the routerz……… go figure.

I sense anger towards the wireless in this post. My sympathies are with all who tried to use it.

The wireless wasn't too bad during sessions, but during breaks when everyone was trying to connect it got really slow.

Like Josh said in the post I don't know why Disney hasn't implemented a full wireless network throughout the hotels.

Hey Dave! Yeah, we talked right after I shot that photo! Man, I was looking forward to posting from tech sessions but the access was just so weak.
