SolidWorks Gets Super Ipod-ified. Site Needs Help.

Bellissimo! You lika the ipod nano, yes? It is like cute puppy, yes?

Today, all the attendees at SolidWorks World got an ipod nano. 4,699 ipod nanos prepackaged with the goodness of SolidWorks marketing material to show your mama and your papa.

This is all part of the new Real Solutions campaign to generate some buzz about SolidWorks via podcasts and video, but it’s not all marketing hype. It’s there to help you too.

Sure you can put your favorite Dead Kennedys songs on there, but in addition to that you can buck the system via the SolidWorks ipod companion site with downloadable 1-minute tips, videos, web apps (currently just one for the iPhone) and wallpapers of pretty products.

Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects is the referral program they’ve set up. You get free hardware.

For each referral who invests in SolidWorks software, we will send you the next component of your Ultimate SolidWorks Home Office.

However, some things on that site need improved.

• Set up your titles! You have something viral with the ipod nano and the title reads ‘index‘ or ‘SWW_sometihng’?
• The Share with Friends link? Email??? Hello? Allright, but you need others. Try ShareThis.
• Add to favorites?? bookmarklets are allright too, but what about Digg, de.licio.us, magnolia, faves, etc. Try AddtoBookmarks
• Where’s the feed? I assume this is gonna have regularly updated content. Feed needed stat.
