One Week From Yesterday. Dassault Systèmes Customer Conference 2009

Ya see those people in the image to the left. That’s not a stock photo friends. nu-uh. That’s Dassault Systèmes product users being highly productive, and highly excited about being highly productive. There’s a special place for these people and it’s not where you’re thinking. It’s Orlando, Florida.

In one week from yesterday, Dassault Systèmes is having their state-side Customer Conference, aptly named, the Dassault Systèmes Customer Conference (DSCC). The CEO, Bernard Charles, will most likely be there with his crew.

Even better, SolidSmack will be there covering anything interesting. How could there be anything interesting at a Customer Conference? Oh, there’s always something. Check out some of the topics.

  • Automotive Design
  • Shipbuilding Solution
  • Stylish Apparel
  • Wind Turbines
  • Pasta-makers
  • Paperless Manufacturing

and that doesn’t even touch any amount of drama that may happen. It all involves CAD, PLM, sustainability, collaboration and getting a stranglehold on productivity. It’s also conveniently focused around the DS products – DELMIA, CATIA, ENOVIA, SIMULIA and 3DVIA. Sorry, no SolidWorks. They have their own special show, SolidWorks World 2010, coming up in February 2010.

Interested in finding anything out about what happens at a Dassault Conference? Let me know.

Disclosure: Thanks for askin’. Yeah, big ol’ Dassault is throwing down the flight and hotel accommodations. They’re not buying me a sandwich at the stop over in Atlanta, but I’m thinkin’ there’ll be some DS pens laying around the Dassault booths which I will rightly gank, with no one none the wiser.

  • Hey Josh-

I'd like to know more about ENOVIA and SmarTeam. Also, please ask them why most of their products are CAPITALIZED.

    THANKS,
    DEVON
  • as I was typing them, I wondered the same thing. All CAPS. We'll get to the bottom of this.
  • IA
Once you're at the conference, you'll have to rename everything; Was Josh Mings, Is JOSHIA MINGSIA, Was SolidSmack Is SOLIDSMACKIA

    GOODIA LUCKIA
    DEVONIA SOWELLIA
  • plannin' on it. will have to have everything reprinted now. great.
  • finally. you've worked it out man.. it's all about the pens...
  • you should see my drawers...
  • What do your pants have to do with it? Please tell me you're packing some for the trip.
  • anything that fits in my backpack will go., including pants, and probably a sandwich.
  • Actually is only last names... so Joshia MINGSIA.
and all employees get a 3 letter name acronyms based on the first and last letters in their names... in all caps. for example - JMS would be your's Josh... JMS at 3DS dot com

there is one lucky man that has a 2 (yes TWO!) letter name acronym. BC.

have fun and come back uncapitalized.

unless it was already taken(except one... guess who?)
  • Not sure about everything else, but I'm pretty sure that CATIA is an acronym standing for “Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application.”

And all-caps for the last name is a traditional French thing, albeit one that is slowly starting to fade away from what I understand. I have a French coworker who writes out her name that way.
  • Isn't all CAPS like yelling at the score board?
