There’s nothing better that staying up all night playing video games with your favorite robot friend, unless your robot friend is actually made of Legos and gets you cold beverages from the fridge.
If you browse Flickr for SolidWorks Photos, you’ll occasionally come across some outstanding models and renderings. These Lego renderings by Bob Van Vliet are exceptional and make you wish that your big brother all those years ago didn’t loose that gray piece that connected the arm.
Check out these rendering and leave Mr. Vliet a comment on his Flickr page.

SolidSmack is a very small behemoth of an online community about 3D CAD, technology, design, robots, and ninjas… Ok, maybe not ninjas so much, but those guys are COOL so there just might be something about some dang ninjas.

One of these days i'm going to take a weekend to regress and just play with legos. Those were the days!
I made a lego bionicle in my first solidworks class back when I was a sophmore in high school (now freshman in college)

I love Lego – always did – especially the the big “technic”-boxes. I had quite a lot of them but no more
– and I even more appreciated the system. The “engieering” of the Lego-bricks is absolutely genius. It looks simple, but actually somebody put a lot of thought into the proportions, so you can combine the components in a wast number of ways
So I did a model of a box I always wanted
One of my renderings:

Thanks for the compliment, Josh, but that last one is actually a (slightly retouched) photo

Cheers,
Bob.
