What is it with cool hologram stuff coming out?
I absolutely love this stuff and Vizoo Media is bringing holograms and visualization to a new level “with revolving video images, that can be seen 360° in all ambient light conditions.”
The product is called the Cheoptic360 and you can’t even describe how amazing this looks and the possibilities, so here’s the video.
Ramboll Technical Services, based in Denmark, is helping make this possible and has more information and video on their site.

SolidSmack is a very small behemoth of an online community about 3D CAD, technology, design, robots, and ninjas… Ok, maybe not ninjas so much, but those guys are COOL so there just might be something about some dang ninjas.

THAT was cool! Amazing stuff indeed. I wonder exactly how they do the 3D effect with video? Multiple cameras? I don't imagine you can just take regular video and convert, nor video of a cad model spinning around.

I'm not sure how they do it. I think I watched that video a dozen times trying to figure it out. I came across this on the Ramboll site
“This is done through surface mirroring and reflections. The pyramid itself is used as a kind of prism that assembles light from four video projections into a solid image.
“We simply use physical space to create a three dimensional feeling of reality as though the object was actually present in the space. In future, using this technique physical space itself will create 3D depth,” says Peter Simonsen.
which make it seem similar to that other holographic display that has the spinning mirror, but you can't see anything spinning in this one.
