3 Quick Tip Note Tricks for Your Finger Tips

solidworks tipsNotes in SolidWorks didn’t use to be so easy to use. Now, there’s actually a lot you can do with them and SolidWorks 2008 is going to bring some new things, like adding balloons to notes. Here’s some tips for notes that only take a nimble finger 2.9 second each.

Move right along
To move the note it small increments, select it and use the arrow keys to shift it up, down, left and right.

Copy me baby
To quickly copy a note, hold Ctrl, select the note and drag to a new spot

Don’t lock me in
To keep notes from snapping to other notes, hold the shift key, select and drag it.

I’d like these to be a little finer tuned. Like, it would be nice to hold Ctrl or Alt when using the arrow key to move the notes in half increments. And when moving or copying a note it would be nice for the note to stay in the same place I picked to move it. Besides that, these bring a small ray of sunshine to a note infested drawing.

you can also align notes to each other easily as i just learned from solid professor. grab the note in the middle, left, or right, and drag near alignment with another note. which part of the note auto aligns (middle, left, or right) is dependent on where you grab the note. neat!
