SolidMentor prepares to launch site

If you’ve been wasting your time with liquid or gasous mentors, you’re in for a wake up call. That’s right, SolidMentor is on the brink of launching thee site that consolidates all the goodness that is SolidWorks, from blogs, to wiki, to events and webcasts.

Here’s the low-down on the features:solidmentor for solidworks

  • Syndicated Blogs
  • Content-driven forum
  • User-generated Wiki
  • Event Calendar
  • Photo Sharing
  • Webcast
  • Comprehensive Search

This is going to be driven by the powerful arm that we call “user content” so that means you can be a part of it. The SolidWorks community has always been in need of more user involvement and this will be a place that you can count on. Why? cause there’s already been strong support from the existing SolidWorks community and testing going on by some of the bloggers out there. I saw some kids on the street getting excited about it too. hey, that could happen.

Keep an eye out for this.

100% 2D Free

You might see this floating around the sight. What does it mean? I came up with it for 2 reasons.100% 2D Free

  1. It’s catchy
  2. It explains a mindset

It’s a concept that kinda eludes some people, and, at times, even me sadly. Some would take this idea like you’re telling them to quit their job, move to Bangladesh and grow mangos.

“YOU! Go grow mangos in Bangledesh!!”
“That makes no sense to me!” they will say or… they will ignore you and tell everyone you’re crazy. Either way, you’re lookin’ weird.

So, what does it mean? It means…

  • I’d rather take a chance on the potential that trust the obvious
  • It means I’m going to keep learning
  • It means “that’s how it’s always been done.” isn’t a good answer
  • It means “It is, what it is” is a lamer answer
  • It means “It is what I make it.”
  • It means I’m not gonna wait for someone else to do it for me.

It means I’m not running backwards into a wall. That one’s a little more obscure I guess, but think about it, if you run backwards into a wall, you either hit it and knock yourself out cold, fall to the ground and bleed to death from internal hemorrhaging or you hit it just light enough to think you’re still runnin, but then you pass out and die from exhaustion.

Got it? good. what does it mean for you??

SolidSmack: Your daily SolidWorks Fix

Lock and LOAD baby
Hi there, if you’re reading this, you are gazing upon the first post of the site that will bring you the best of solid modeling with SolidWorks and show you how to bend it to your will or… at least give it a good poke before you run away screaming. There will, of course, be some intensely interesting tid-bits of information about how to get things done in SolidWorks and we’ll throw in a splash of some related things happening in technology, business and the web.

The Smack is what you lackthe smack
Yes, this place is loaded with new insight… err, in the process of being loaded, more like being filled, but not in the landfill kinda way…we are shovelin’ it it man, whether it’s something you didn’t know about SolidWorks or ways to improve the way you’re working the ol’ fingers to the bone - yeah, pretty much anything is an improvement on bare finger bones - for one, this site may actually prevent you from throwing your PC thru the window, buying a new PC, and throwing it thru the same window you just replaced. People, for some reason, think badly of that type of behavior.

Maybe there’s a different way of looking at your product design that could inspire you to create a bicycle powered computer to help indigenous people of developing countries access incredibly delicious recipes for Chicken Tetrazzini. Whatever the case, improving the heck out of things is what we aim for.
