5 Fresh Backgrounds for SolidWorks

customizing solidworks

In the realm of somewhat useless but cool stuff you can do to customize SolidWorks, I recently did a post about making your own background.

This can in actuality be very useful for two things

  1. Making things on your screen easier to see
  2. Giving a custom feel to product presentations

So, in light of all of that, I’ve created 5 backgrounds for you to use or to get some inspiration for what you could do with your own. Here they are…

To use them, just click the one below you want and then right click on the image that opens up and select Save Image As. In SolidWorks go to Tools, Options and select Colors on the System Options Tab. Select Image File… in the Background appearance area and choose the one you like. To download them all click here.

Flame On

I know. That last one is a little cheesy, but maybe you can put it on someone elses screen as a prank or on yours when you’re feelin’ on fire. Oh, by the way, you can also use these as desktop wallpaper. Hope you enjoy.

yeah man, that is exactly what I use them for. I use the orange burst almost always. really helps everything stand out and I don't get conflicts in light and dark colored lines.
  • Given the intensity of these colors, this might be more usual as viewport backgrounds.
  • Hey Ricky, thanks. Definitely, if you ever have some graphics questions let me know!
  • Josh,

I'm going to have to corner you at SolidWorks World and get some graphics tips. Nice job with the images (and all the image work on your site).
